NW-1 is a small molecular weight quaternary ammonium organic salt. It is used as a mud shale inhibitor in drilling fluid. It has It has a very good effect in inhibiting the dispersion of clay minerals in the formation, preventing the expansion of highly water-sensitive mud shale in the formation, stabilizing the well wall during the drilling process, and assisting in cleaning the solid content in the drilling fluid. The effect is obvious when drilling large sections of mudstone and high-salt formations. NW-1 can also be used as a shale or sandstone stabilizer in oil production operations.
